您是否曾經瞧瞧位於「工具程式」檔案夾內的「活動監視器 (Activity Monitor，10.2 以前叫 ProcessViewer)」？這個類似心電圖的圖像裡頭藏了什麼祕密？您一定曾納悶那些在背景執行的程序到底是什麼？Westwind 這個網站提供了一個不錯的列表，說明各背景程序 (background process 或 daemon) 的功能以及它實際的動作。
不過作者也提到，這個列表並非是最完整的，如果您在 Mac 上看到的程序不在此列表中，並不一定代表電腦出了什麼問題或是被"駭"了，也許該程序僅是尚未列入列表中而已。
Note: this list is far from complete. If you see processes on your Mac that aren't on this list, it doesn't mean there's something wrong or that you've been hacked; just that I'm not as dilligent as I could be in maintaining the list.
