Macworld 所作的 FTP 軟體評比
FTP in Brief
Macworld 刊了一篇在 Mac 上三個頗受歡迎的 FTP 商業軟體評比，分別是船長、卡車和小狗狗。其實這三個 FTP 軟體各擅勝場，使用者可以依照自己的需求加以選擇！不過總的來說，Macworld 做了簡略的優缺分析，我大致引述如下：
Captain FTP 4.2
優：雙向同步、虛擬檔案夾、排程傳輸、共享檔案和位址簿。
缺：非標準的界面、令人困惑的書籤功能、有限的 AppleScript 支援、一些小臭蟲。
Transmit 3.2
優：支援 WebDAV、直接使用 Dock 進行傳輸 (DockSend)、連結檔案夾導覽、直欄顯示、支援 Automator 動作、絕佳的 AppleScript 支援。
缺：無法編輯非文字檔案、沒有階層式列表顯示 (hierarchical list)。
Fetch 5.0.1
優：可錄製 AppleScript、簡單清楚的界面、透過遠端伺服器的 GraphicConverter 編輯圖像、自動被動模式 (passive mode)。
缺：無自動開合式檔案夾 (spring-loaded folders) 或直欄顯示、無拖放盒上傳的功能 (drop-box upload)。

Despite having some unique capabilities, Captain FTP 4.2 was the most cumbersome of the three; Transmit 3.2 and Fetch 5.0.1 offered smoother, more natural operation. Fetch is no slouch, but Transmit gets the nod for a greater breadth of features and a beautiful design that makes it a pleasure to use.
