Spotlight 重新製作索引
“How can I make Spotlight start over with its indexing, or at least force it to reindex a particular volume, without reinstalling Tiger clean?”
如果你和 Mac 新系統 Tiger 的使用者 Steve Osborn 同樣有這個疑問「怎麼讓 Spotlight 重新開始製作索引、或至少強制重新進行某個卷宗的索引，該怎麼做？」
Macworld 在 這裡 提供了解答，簡單地說明如下：打開 Spotlight 系統偏好設定、點選 "Privacy" 標籤、按下 "+" 加號按鈕，然後新增您想要重新製作索引的卷宗。稍等五分鐘，在 Privacy 區域選取該卷宗、然後按下 "-" 減號按鈕移除它。Spotlight 將會從頭開始再替此卷宗製作索引。
Open the Spotlight system preference, click the Privacy tab, click the plus button, and add the volume you want to reindex. Wait five minutes, select the volume in the privacy area, and click the minus button to remove it. Spotlight will index the volume again from the ground up.
要留意的是，再重新製作磁碟索引前，請先記得修復權限（repair permissions），此外，如果這個磁碟最近剛製作索引過，並沒有必要再進行一次，改天有需要再做吧！另外，即使您可以同時使用 Spotlight，但它也有可能尚未完成製作索引。
